Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP)
The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) will receive $25 million in Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) funding from the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service to support soil health initiatives across Minnesota. The Advancing Soil Health in Minnesota Agriculture project will offer financial incentives to producers for implementing soil health best management practices and systems such as no-till, strip-till, rotational grazing and cover crops. Through this project the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources will focus on near-channel erosion, which is the largest source of sediment to the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers, and upland erosion on tilled fields, which is the second largest source of sediment. Outcomes of this project will reduce pounds of nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment that runoff into the watershed.

Nicollet SWCD Board has approved the following practices and rates:
-
Cover Crops (Practice Standard 340)
-
Single Species- $45/acre
-
Multi Species- $60/acre
-
-
No Till/Strip Till (Practice Standard 329)- $35/acre

Applications will be scored, ranked, and batched once per month. Funds will be awarded based on ranking, but in the case of a tie, will be funded on a first come, first served basis.
